... Wyoming Outback Challenge, Virtual Race, MR-340, WaterTribe Ultimate Florida



Speedlinking for May 16, 2008:
  • Wyoming Outback Challenge, 48 miles marathon race on the North Platte River below Saratoga is coming next weekend. See my post: Paddle the Wild West: 2008 Wyoming Outback Challenge on North Platte River.
  • I am updating entries to the 2008 Virtual Race (finishing March right now). Please be sure that you are submitting all data and entering one of two race distances: 5 or 10 miles.
  • 2008 Missouri River 340. 191 paddlers are training for the 3rd edition of this race. Men solo class with 76 entries is the most popular one (see the roster. There are also two long safari boats: a 6 person boat from Texas and a 4 person boat from Kansas City (here is their training blog).

    I am really amazed how the popularity of marathon racing exploded in Kansas and Missouri during last 3 years due to efforts of guys from RiverMiles.com.

  • WaterTribe Ultimate Florida Challenge was canceled for this year, but there are still chances for this 1200 mile race around Florida to happen in the next year. Chief needs a sufficient number of committed and determined participants - see the WaterTribe forum.
  • Engineered Athlete Services website and Alan Carlsson's blog moved to a new location. I hope that it will be active again.
