Weekly Upstream and Downstream Paddling Workout on the South Platte River

Upstream/downstream training on the South Platte continues. Last Saturday afternoon I paddled with Jeremy 4+ miles upstream starting from the highway 60 east of Milliken. Great weather for paddling, a little bit windy later in the afternoon, not so great for photography (mostly cloudy), hundreds and hundreds geese on the river. We reached the Wildcat Mound cliff a couple miles below the confluence with the St Vrain River.

I will post time and date of the next workout in my training schedule sometime in the middle of the week taking into account the weather forecast. It may be Miliken again, but paddling down the river first to the Godfrey Ditch Dam.

It is just a month left to the first race on the South Platte: 9 miles upstream from Kersey to Evans on March 16.
