A 22 Mile Kayak & Canoe Race on the Mississippi - BluzCruz Marathon in Vicksburg

Vicksburg, Mississippi

BluzCruz Marathon is a 22 mile kayak and canoe race on the Mississippi River with the start at Madison Parish Port just north of Tallulah, Louisiana, and finish at Vicksburg Front, Vicksburg, Mississippi. The race is held in conjunction with Vicksburg Riverfest.

This year race took place on April 22. Brints Adams wrote a report from his start in Seda Glider in the Kayak Canoe Alabama blog. I believe it was the second year of the BluzCruz.

Four Seda Gliders, two Thunderbolts, two Epics, two QCC 700's kayaks and a lot of water from the perspective of the dry Colorado The current was strong up to 4 mph, although, slower than during last year race due to a lower water. It sounds like it was a lot of fun.

Vicksburg does not sound completely abstract to me any longer. We crossed the Mississippi River there during our driving home from Florida a few weeks ago after the Ultimate Florida Challenge. They have nice bridges!
