Incoming Marathon Paddling Races in Kansas and Missouri



The Kansas River “Gritty Fitty”

June 30th, 2007, 50 miles from Lawrence to Kansas City (Kaw Point). New race. Divisions: Men’s Solo Unlimited, Women’s Solo Unlimited, Men’s tandem unlimited, Women’s tandem unlimited, Mixed tandem unlimited. Deadline for entries June 15, 2007.

There are 22 entries right now including some fast racing boats like WSBS Thunderbolt, Epic V10 surfski or ICF K1.


The 2nd Annual Missouri River 340

July 24-28, 2007, 340 non-stop miles from Kansas City (Kaw Point) to St Charles. 100 hours to complete the course. Divisions: Men’s Solo Unlimited, Women’s Solo Unlimited, Men’s tandem unlimited, Women’s tandem unlimited, Mixed tandem unlimited.

70 boats are allowed in the race. The current roster lists 68 entries - a variety of sea kayaks and canoes including a fleet of Kruger's boats and outrigger canoes.

  4. 7 miles of sprint to the finish

Race for the Rivers

August 25 and 26, 2007, 60 miles on the Missouri River, two-day stage race, starting in Washington, MO and ending at the confluence of the Missouri and the Mississippi Rivers.
