fitness paddling: exercise, train, race by kayak & canoe

Participants of the WaterTribe Ultimate Florida Challenge are receiving a support from more than 20 team sponsors. It is likely that SandyBottom and Pelican are most active and successful in receiving sponsorship for their racing in the WaterTribe event.

My primary goal is not to support my paddling or racing, but rather to compensate cost of web hosting for my web pages. During my 10 years of web publishing I have put on-line more 400 megabytes of pictures, video clips and words. It is a lot of work and a lot of fun, but this hobby is also getting quite expensive, especially, that is so easy to produce new pictures and movies with modern digital cameras.

I am running three programs on my paddling websites: amazon.com affiliate program, and two advertising programs: Chitika eMiniMalls, and Yahoo! Publisher Network (YPN). Occasionally, I am trying something new.

I have been the amazon.com associate for many years using that program mostly on my photography pages. Each time if you visit amazon.com using a link from my pages and you buy books or other products I am getting 5 or 7.5% of the sale value.

Last year I started Chitika eMiniMalls and YPN on my pages. Each time you click their advertisement on my pages they pay me some pennies. Unfortunately, advertisements related to paddling, fitness or photography do not belong to the highest paying ones, perhaps, around 20 cents per click recently.


I am close to achieve my goal of covering the web hosting costs. Will I make any extra money to support my paddling? I doubt it, but I am sure I will be adding many new pictures and movies to my web pages after Ultimate Florida Challenge.

There are many successful profit oriented blogs, but they are not related to paddling. Of course, very popular are blogs helping bloggers earn money. I would recommend ProBlogger and performancing. Even if you are not interested in monetizing your blog, they are providing a lot of useful information on blog design, writing content, promotion.
