Sat - April 8, 2006Talking about Ultimate Florida Challenge with Warren Richey - Sharkchow I
had a long and very interesting phone conversation with Warren Richey
"Sharkchow" this morning. He was interviewing me for the article he is preparing
for Sea Kayaker Magazine on the Ultimate Florida Challenge. However, at the same
time, I had a opportunity to learn a lot about his paddling in the UFC. I think
that after that talk it will be easier for me to write about my misadventures on
Florida Bay.
We have participated together in two Everglades Challenges, but we have never had opportunity to talk. Warren was usually far ahead of me during the race and it was difficult to find him at the start with his regular sea kayak. I usually focus with my photo or video shooting on more unusual boats like new designs by Matt "Wizard" Layden. Shame of me! This year again I have no single picture of Warren at the race start, although, I knew that he would be one of the top racers in the UFC.
