Finishing 2023 year with gravel biking and SUP paddling

The year 2023 has drawn to a close. It was a particularly interesting year for me, filled with paddling, biking, river racing, travels, new outdoor activities, and health challenges. I plan to write some reviews and post new videos on my fitover67 YouTube channel.

I rounded off 2023 with a 12-mile gravel bike ride in the Arapaho Bend Natural Area in Fort Collins, CO, on my Trek Checkpoint bike, and did some photography after sunset. I also visited Timnath and Gateway Pond, which are situated on the other side of I-25. There was no snow, but it definitely felt like winter. A day earlier, I had a nice stand up paddling on Horsetooth Reservoir with Rob Bean. I paddled Starboard Waterline board which I used in most of my 2023 racing.

Last year, I took the Trek bike to some of my river races and did “sample” riding on Katy Trail in Missouri, the Chain of Rocks area in Illinois, and the Steamboat Trace trail in Nebraska.

Now, it’s time to kick off 2024 with some paddling. The boat #0013 (or paddleboard or something else) is coming back to MR340 race. Seawind expedition canoe is my choice for this year race right now, but I still have time to make more crazy decisions.

  • hot tea break - senior male paddler with a decked expedition canoe with a wooden paddle on a rocky shore of Horsetooth Reservoir near Fort Collins, Colorado, low water level fall or winter scenery

Happy New Year!

Some books I am currently reading. Well, it’s more like exploring than reading, and implementing some tips into my lifestyle.
